With our inaugural episode Eric Carr and Chaz Jenkins talk with me about region politics as well as awareness of our political situation as it feels in the PG area, DC area, Atlanta area and the outside of the perimeter of Atlanta.  We start this series with expressing our experiences from our area as well as what we perceive to be issues to address. 

Detroit (The movie)

Amidst the chaos of the Detroit Rebellion, with the city under curfew and as the Michigan National Guard patrolled the streets, three young African American men were murdered at the Algiers Motel.

This episode Alicia and watch another one of the best directors working today (Kathryn Bigelow ) The director of the previous two blockbusters The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.  Since we didn't have much history of what went on in the city of Detroit during this era.  We weren't sure if this was worth going to see  But when we found out Kathryn was director it, I knew we had to see it.  This is a very intense and contemporary movie of what is going on in our society right now.

Interview with Robin Jackson

Rebecca Colett is the lead for the Atlanta chapter of ChickTech, that supports women and young girls with tech.  She builds a community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing high tech industry.

From the Hood to Middle Class redux

Today Chaz and I  return to our financial series with revisiting plans we helped Jermey with on our last Financial episode.  The major long term goals we had Jermeey addressing were A new bank account, a credit card and what would be his new living arrangement (purchase and renting).  We get something totally unexpected but hold on to hope that our advice would not fall on deaf ears.

Healthy Eating while maintaining a budget

Today Chaz and I talk about the importance of healthy eating and working with a budget that would not kill your paycheck. We talk about bulk shopping (Sam's, Costco's, B.J's) and Organic buying with specialty markets (farmers markets, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Fresh Market).  With the fast pace of millineals in this era.  They need options in order to budget their paycheck, reduce the chance of getting sick and how do you add eating to your enjoyment.

The immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (HBO)

In 1951, cancerous cells from Henrietta Lacks lead to breakthroughs that change the face of medicine forever. Aided by writer Rebecca Skloot, Deborah Lacks embarks on a quest to learn about the mother she never knew.

Alicia and I reviewed this HBO movie produced by Oprah Winfrey because we read the book     The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks a few years ago and really felt that this was an important message about a remarkable African American woman that effected science forever. So we wanted to see if the movie would give the family and book justice. 

Apple WWDC 2017 San Jose California

This episode, Alicia and I discuss the OS changes and the few hardware changes Apple presented during their conference in San Jose California.  This was a different feel compared to the other Apple conferences. and not just because it wasn't in San Francisco.  We mostly speak to our plus and minuses of what we saw and what we didn't see at the WWDC 2017 conference.
