This was a critically acclaimed series from Great Britain that moved a lot of people with the uncomfortable reality it brings to the situation as well as the characters. This takes you on a world wind of realities what ever and who ever you may be. A brilliant addition to HBO
After being sexually assaulted in a nightclub, Arabella's life changes irreversibly and she is forced to reassess everything, including her career, friends and family
This time Alicia and I amp dead into season 3, yes we saw season 2. We enjoyed it to the extent that we had to wait until the whole 8 episode was over so we could binge watch the whole thing. This was a different presentation than the other two but worth watching as a fan
So, being Guy Ritchie fans, we were dying to see what he was going to do with this new movie with an all star cast of characters, British and American. We see that he has matured with his technique as well as getting a lot more money for his movies than before.
Being a long time fan of Noomi Rapace from the “Girl with the dragon Tattoo” series (Millennial series) This movie about her being a female body guard was pretty interesting to me. How this bodyguard had to take care of an heiress that has just inherited control over her fathers million dollar business. British movie but something on my list
Alicia and I wanted to see this movie because we remember from our childhood watching Mary Poppins over and over. Black children watching a British nanny take care of the children of an affluent family was a fantasy but enjoyable. Even though Dick Van Dyke did semi put on black face (JS) The musical never left our memory so we anted to see the new version this movie. Honestly not expecting much but expecting not to be disappointed.
Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan. His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. We go to the movies to see one of our favorite bands of our childhood. Queen. Knowing almost all the hits and some that we did not know they made. We wanted to go to the theater and sing along with the screen. I was not a big follower of Freddie Mercury but we were aware of some of his exploits. So the lack of craziness they didn’t show wasn’t a big deal to us.
We jumped into a brand new BBC America series called Killing Eve. A cat and mouse investigator/Assassin series with a twist. These two protagonist are women and the assassin is a psychopath. This British triller is very unique and we discuss the nuances of the characters and series.
Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, " `Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun.
