BlacKKKlansman (Spike Lee)

We have been Spike Lee fans for years but he has been in a serious bad movie slump for years (not just our opinion look at the ratings). So we were real cautious of this movie coming out and if it would be another Cliche Spike Lee movie.  But when we read about the involvement of Jordan Peele producing this movie as well.  We had to give it a try and especially being based on a true story.  A black man tricking and joining the Klan.

It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. 

 

Drake new Release- "Scorpion" Side B

Sean and I get into the B side of the Scorpion double CD and jump into the R&B side.  Slowly moving from the hard rap side of A.  Drake slows it down in a true to form style that made him an international star we discuss this side and close out with his status for the year as best album or not

International Tariffs and the failing Democratic party

The team returns and jumps on the dumb but controversial policy of trade tariffs and the American workers.  And for some reason, we can not get off criticizing the democratic party and how there is no strategy, message or candidate that will make any of us feel theres a chance. Sigh!!

   

 

Ant-Man and the Wasp (Marvel)

You all ready know, Alicia and I are marvel fans (not fanatics, I'm board line) so we had to go see the sequel to the Ant-Man first movie.  We enjoyed it and thought it was worthy for a sequel with the anticipation of The Wasp being premiered in the sequel so here we are on the premier weekend.  

Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. #Metoo and Religion / Children in Cages (the immigration dilemma)

The team finishes up our discussion with immigration and how institutions have been hiding undertake guise of religion to take advantage of women as well as keep women in subordinate positions based on religious doctrine.  We go back historically with immigration to bring in perspective of what our country has done in the past as well as what our needs are for today.

  

 

G7 Summit, Supreme court Muslim band, Racism and the decline of Media coverage

Catching up on the political topics of the day.  The guys come together to talk about crazy topics such as Tariffs, Space force and effecting the relationships with our allies.  We talk about the how the administration is allegedly effecting jobs, people with MBA's not getting hired and the Trump voters correlation with opioid use.  We also hit the media again with how they have failed the public with their reporting and the Muslim ban and Is it racist

    

The US/ North Korean Summit and The lack of purpose by the DNC

The team jumps in with the opinions about the how our diplomacy has changed under the Trump administration.  With the North Korean / US summit completed, we're not sure what we got out of the summit as a nation.  With a twist to presidential legacies, What do we feel about legacies with presidential people or performers?  Also what will be next with Mike Pence and what will the democrats bring to the table for the next General elections and lets make room for women.  Especially with the DNC still not organized enough to represent the people. 

  

Does the media get a good grade for the first half of the year?

The team gets together and discuss Trump creating Battlestar Gallactica/Star Trek force to protect space.  Yeah, thats what I said.  Also we talk about what the media is really doing this year compared to the previous year as well as Some of the decisions made by the supreme court.  We were a day late on the Kennedy resignation.  And we almost missed what went on during the G7 summit.  We alsp delve into the racist policies and discuss fear vs. racism.  A very interesting discussion.

           

Kanye West "Ye"

As this is Kanye's month (June).  We start with his solo release Ye!  Even tho the album covers says,"I hate being bi-polar - its awesome".  Somebody is still a fan and somebody is done with his sh*t!!  But we both know that he is still one of the best producers out now.  we break it down!!

Women in the Primaries and whats up with the Media?

The guys come back together to rant about the media not having the guts to ask the hard questions and why are they still fearful of their jobs at the Whitehouse?  We jump into the amazing pursuit by women to gain political office to make the changes instead of waiting for Change.
