Spiderman Homecoming Review

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero. On this episode Alicia and I go to the late night showing of Spiderman Homing.  As part of our Comic book series, we switch from DC Comics to Marvel Comics.  With this teenager based movie, we prepare ourself for what we don't know what to expect.  The previews were fun but not  a go out and run to (Like the Black Panther trailer).

Baby Driver Review (2017)

A talented, young getaway driver relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams, Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Alicia and I went to the movies on the basis of the great reviews for this movie and the star studded characters in the movie.  What we found out was this movie was filmed in Atlanta and O boy it was so cool to see Atlanta in its full form.

The immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (HBO)

In 1951, cancerous cells from Henrietta Lacks lead to breakthroughs that change the face of medicine forever. Aided by writer Rebecca Skloot, Deborah Lacks embarks on a quest to learn about the mother she never knew.

Alicia and I reviewed this HBO movie produced by Oprah Winfrey because we read the book     The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks a few years ago and really felt that this was an important message about a remarkable African American woman that effected science forever. So we wanted to see if the movie would give the family and book justice. 

King Arthur - Legend of the Sword

After the murder of his father, young Arthur's power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing who he truly is. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his true destiny to become a legendary fighter and leader

This episode Alicia and I discuss the new Guy Ritchie flick, King Arthur - Legend of the sword.  Critics and audiences did not favor this movie not one bit.  But Alicia and I like Guy Ritchie and wanted to give the movie a chance (not often do we do that)

Alien Convenant

So Alicia and I went to see the newest version of Alien.  Alicia's not a fan of the Alien series but I actually enjoyed them.  Since we both enjoyed Prometheus, this movie supposed to have extended the thought of the previous movie and lets you know whats next.  Of course there is an abundance of stupidity in the movie but we have our opinion. 

Wonder Woman (DC comics) 2017

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny

This Episode Alicia and I go to a late showing of Wonder Woman because we heard so much about this movie as well as checking out the interviews with the stars and the director.  Since this is a DC movie not a marvel.  I was of course cautious of this being a good movie.  But we got to enjoy this film from a very different perspective.

Black Panther Trailer review

Tonight we look at the Black Panther trailer for the 18th time.  The buzz and feedback has been so overwhelming that we had to do a review of the review of the trailer.    We also give credit to the original artist that does the theme (run the jewels - Legend has it)

Fate of the Furious (fast and furious 8)

When a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of terrorism and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before.

Alicia and I have a late night movie watching binge.  Even though I've heard good and bad things about this movie The Fate of the furious.  The all star cast returns and we get to see all the new cast members and sit and watch how this next big blockbuster really turns out.  You might be surprised or not surprised by our review of this movie.  I should have listened to my favorite podcast Cinemile when they did the review of the movie as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review

This episode Alicia and I talk about the fantastic movie Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.  Since we both saw the first one and I read the comic books from Marvel, we had to see the new one.  Alicia had to see it during her conference and I saw it with my daughter Milan.   But we had to see vol. 2 and experience this funny, loud exciting movie.  We kinda look at this from our different experience with different people but still able to give a great perspective of the movie.

Ghost in the Shell Review

This episode I am joined by my new co-host Milan (Ma - Lawn) with reviewing the Ghost in the shell anime movie and the new Live Action movie.  We touch on the series of other Ghost in the shell series (Laughing man, Stand alone complex (solid state), Individual eleven.  Milan adds here cheerful and exciting view to our revamped movie podcast.
