Ant-Man and the Wasp (Marvel)

You all ready know, Alicia and I are marvel fans (not fanatics, I'm board line) so we had to go see the sequel to the Ant-Man first movie.  We enjoyed it and thought it was worthy for a sequel with the anticipation of The Wasp being premiered in the sequel so here we are on the premier weekend.  

Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy

Sicario : Day of the Soldado

Alicia and I sit down with great anticipation to see the sequel to the critically acclaimed Sicario released 3 years ago from my favorite director Denis Villeneuve and the original screenplay writer by Taylor Sheridan.  This new version is very intense and a bit more stereotyped and US policy driven but something we do discuss minus the negative portrayals of the Mexican people.  

 

 

FBI agent Matt Graver calls on mysterious operative Alejandro Gillick when Mexican drug cartels start to smuggle terrorists across the U.S. border. The war escalates even further when Alejandro kidnaps a top kingpin's daughter to deliberately increase the tensions. When the young girl is seen as collateral damage, the two men will determine her fate as they question everything that they are fighting for

#Metoo and Religion / Children in Cages (the immigration dilemma)

The team finishes up our discussion with immigration and how institutions have been hiding undertake guise of religion to take advantage of women as well as keep women in subordinate positions based on religious doctrine.  We go back historically with immigration to bring in perspective of what our country has done in the past as well as what our needs are for today.

Today I speak with my wife Alicia Carr that has be traveling the world speaking about Women in technology as well as diversity and her journey in becoming a coder at 51 years old.  I sit her down to talk about her latest experience as well as how she is getting her message out to people around the world. Also her latest trip is in London England where I joined her to do a keynote at the BCS chartered institute for IT.

   

  

 My Mission (Alicia Carr)

One of my life’s goal and mission is to EMPOWER women. I have learned that we are the same with our struggles and I don’t want to see color. I see women, and women all over the world are going through problems they shouldn’t have to whether its in tech or through life.  I also see, as people, as women, we are one. When women struggle, we all struggle.

 

 

Jurassic World: Fallen kingdom

Since Alicia is so much of a dinosaur fan, We had to go see Jurassic world on the release week.  This is the third iteration of the Jurassic series and the second part of the Jurassic world series.  Looking forward to another fun and exciting Jurassic movie we go in very excited.

BCS Tech Conference (London UK) 2018

Alicia gets a chance to speak at the UK BCS conference in London and we get to tour the city With our new best Friends.  Charolette, her father Paul and Gen Ashley. We discuss her experience as a keynote speaker and how her talks have evolved in order to get people motivated and involved with women, minorities and young people with technology. Alicia lets us know her thoughts and feelings about the experience.

Sean and I go through a short review of some releases in June that may have been overlooked because of the massive amount of big names releasing something almost as a competition on who's who and whats better.  We review the "Freddie" from Freddie Gibbs and "Streams of Thought, vol 1, by Black Thought.

  

The US/ North Korean Summit and The lack of purpose by the DNC

The team jumps in with the opinions about the how our diplomacy has changed under the Trump administration.  With the North Korean / US summit completed, we're not sure what we got out of the summit as a nation.  With a twist to presidential legacies, What do we feel about legacies with presidential people or performers?  Also what will be next with Mike Pence and what will the democrats bring to the table for the next General elections and lets make room for women.  Especially with the DNC still not organized enough to represent the people. 

  

Kids see Ghost - Kanye and Kid Cudi

We jump into the 3rd installment of the Kanye production month with the release of "Kids see Ghost".  The collaboration with Kanye and Kid Cudi on their 7 track release.  Since we are fans of Kid Cudi, we absolutely have our opinion of what we think of the overall production.

Bluebeard (Netflix) Korean

 This awkard twisted serial killer saga, tells the story about a doctor that overhears some suspicious and perhaps brutal killing of someone nwhile they are sedated in his clinic.  This movie takes you on a plot twisting ride that makes you ask, am I right or am I wrong. Or Is it both.  Something to be prepared for.

 

 

A doctor finds himself in the middle of an unsolved serial murder case after discovering a secret from a sedated patient. When dismembered bodies show up close to home, he must solve the riddle before the killer realizes what he knows.
