Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2015

This next wine selected at our fine dinning restaurant (specialty restaurants) on the Royal Caribbean cruise line, was a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.  When all else fails (price as well) You go with the old reliable.  This time I had a dijon and white wine sauce on a delicious cod over veggies. A very decent pairing.

Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva (Chile)

These next two wines  were selected at two fine dinning restaurants (specialty restaurants) on a Royal Caribbean cruise. With Chops supplying us with a beautifully cooked and seasoned Filet mignon.  I wanted a cross between a medium to heavy Cabernet and this one came through.

After speaking to my doctor about my blood pressure, my sugar intake, Cholesterol, and sodium levels.  But when she asked me about my weekly alcohol intake per week and what was I drinking. Thats where the wine conversation started.  We started to break down which of the two types of wines were the healthiest to drink as well as what makes one healthier than the other. I took her advice and figured the info she gave me and my research would be something interesting to share.  .

 

 

 

 

 

Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot South Africa 2015

Named for a sun-like, fruit-bearing plant that grows in the southern Andes mountains.  2016 Nguilleu Sauvignon Blanc is grown in a cold weather climate in Chile, and steel-aged for a bright, tart, and ultimately refreshing feel. The aromas are perfumed with grapefruit, and the flavors offer succulent notes of lemon, gooseberry, and grass, with a mild salinity that is balanced by mellow honeysuckle on the finish

Inti Chardonnay (Chile)

This Chardonnay is beautiful with bursting fresh citrus fruit flavors. A little herbaceousness (almost bell pepper like) underlies the palate and gives it the Chilean style. This fruit on this wine is very similar to taking a grape off the vine and tossing it into your mouth, which is the exact goal of the winery. Truly superb.
