Tapaculo Merlot
Friday Dec 08, 2017
Friday Dec 08, 2017
This Merlot is a brilliant showcase of its estate background. To us, one of Merlot’s finest qualities is that it makes a truly versatile and excellent food wine. It can pair with a lot of food, from the leftover pizza you have from last night or a delicious filet mignon off the grill. Merlot can do it all. This one is a great example, with a medium body, round fruit flavors and silky tannins

Magnifico Cuvee Bianco
Friday Dec 01, 2017
Friday Dec 01, 2017
Sometimes, a name really does say it all. The wines of Magnifico are nothing short of magnificent. They span Italy, from Tuscany, to Sicily and beyond. These beautiful wines showcase the best the country has to offer, which, by the way, is quite a bit, when it comes to wine. This blend is classically Italian, with crisp and refreshing notes. With some subtle and well-balanced tropical fruit flavors, this wine showcases quite a bit. With a refreshing finish of minerality, this is a great pair for fresh salads or seafood

Georges Duboeuf - Beaujolais Nouveau 2017
Saturday Nov 25, 2017
Saturday Nov 25, 2017
The arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau from Georges Duboeuf is an annual celebration. A bright and brambly version, with light tannins and a subtle, minerally underpinning to the flavors of black raspberry, mandarin orange peel and fig. Here's my take on this new Holiday drink.

Free run Paperbark Chardonnay
Friday Nov 17, 2017
Friday Nov 17, 2017
From a fifth-generation winemaking family in southern Australia’s historic Barossa Valley region, Paperbark wines are as loveable as their namesake, an Australian tree with peeling bark and fluffy white flowers. 2016 Paperbark Chardonnay is a pale yellow in the glass, sharing aromas of ripe peach with notes of tart citrus. This barrel-matured wine’s palate is medium bodied, with notes of nougat and spice from wild fermentation, and a hint of vanilla from oak aging

Tuesday Night White (Sauvignon blanc)
Friday Nov 10, 2017
Friday Nov 10, 2017
This Sauvignon Blanc was very ordinary and came from a Groupon deal from the Splash wines distributors. This light aromatic wine is not a stand out from most other sauvignon blanc wines. The taste is ordinary and should be used as a compliment to food as oppose to a great stand alone wine. Wine connoisseurs stay away, beginners its good to learn and build your palate on. Check out online reviews on Groupon wines to get more details about the distributors

Friday Nov 10, 2017

Purple-colored, the nose offers up plum and black cherry notes with a touch of black pepper. The palate is soft and round with ripe, saturated berry flavors. Finishes spicy and full with chewy tannins

Villa Amoroso Rosso Toscana I.G.T
Friday Nov 03, 2017
Friday Nov 03, 2017
There is something inherently special and charismatic about Tuscan wine. Some say this is instilled by the vine, while others are charmed by the balance and full-flavor. What wins us over is the wine's proven food-friendliness. The contrast of tart cherry, plum, and strawberry flavors fuse with earthy notes of oregano, smoke, and tobacco, making it a wonderful dinner companion. Non-vintage Villa Amoroso Toscana Rosso hits every flavor note we expect, leaving us to want nothing else, except for maybe a few more bottles

New Kent Virginia Vidal Blanc
Friday Nov 03, 2017
Friday Nov 03, 2017
Vidal Blanc grapes are grown from a hybrid of Trebbiano and Seibel varietals. This year, we covered the vines in bird netting to protect the grapes, and cooler summer temperatures let the grapes spend more time maturing on the vine. As soon as we picked the grapes, we chilled them and fermented them to ensure a delightful finish for this light-bodied and slightly sweet wine

Glass vs. Crystal wine glasses
Friday Oct 27, 2017
Friday Oct 27, 2017
Glass vs Crystal: The primary difference between crystal vs. glass is that crystal glass contains anywhere from 2-30% minerals (lead or lead-free). The key feature of crystal wine glasses is that the minerals strengthen the material, making it possible to produce durable but thin wine glasses. My take is when, why what would be your personal preference when it comes to these two glasses.
