Welcome to the three part series of the music awards for 2018 .  We have your basic categories and the exceptional categories that we felt had to be added based on the artists contributions for the year.  Go back and reference the reviews for the nominee's but this year we have some of the listeners contribution which is a great addition to our review. Aquaman (DC Universe)

I'm trying my best to be very fair and objective when i watch Marvel movies and DC movies.  But after seeing the weak Justice League production, I wasn't very inspired to see the new release of a DC character on their own.  Successful Wonder woman, Legacy Batman movies and Lackluster Superman reimagined movies.  But we gave the new Jason Momoa a chance to shine on his own as Aquaman.

Mary Poppins Returns/Mary Poppins (1964)

Alicia and I wanted to see this movie because we remember from our childhood watching Mary Poppins over and over. Black children watching a British nanny take care of the children of an affluent family was a fantasy but enjoyable. Even though Dick Van Dyke did semi put on black face (JS) The musical never left our memory so we anted to see the new version this movie. Honestly not expecting much but expecting not to be disappointed.

   

                                          

Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan. His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister receive the surprise of a lifetime when Mary Poppins -- the beloved nanny from their childhood -- arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.

Bird Box (Netflix)

As a recommendation for Alicia and I to see, we made a decision to check this out over the holidays. Compared to the box office hit “A quiet Place”. This was supposed to give you the same feel and tension of that movie. The difference with this movie is the creatures in Bird Box make you kill yourself if you see them as oppose to creatures hunting you down if you make a sound. The main highlight of this movie is Sandra Bullock performance and John Malkovich which plays his crazy self as usual

    

Bird Box is a 2014 post-apocalyptic novel and the debut work of Josh Malerman, the lead singer of the High Strung.^[1] The book was first published in the United Kingdom on March 27, 2014 through Harper Voyager and in the United States on May 13, 2014 through Ecco Press. The book follows a woman who must find a way to guide herself and her children to safety despite the potential threat from an unseen adversary. The story is partially told via flashbacks and takes place during three different time periods

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Alicia and I finally get to see the sequel to the Fantastic beast series by JK Rowling. We highly enjoyed the first movie so we were looking forward to the sequel. Heavy with Star power our expectations were high for this one as well.

Widows (the movie)

Alicia and I go to see one of our favorite actress, two upcoming black males and the amazing director Steve McQueen. This movie Widows was based on an 80’s British TV series that was rewritten by Steve and McQueen and Gillian Flynn (gone girl, sharp objects, Dark places) mixed review of this movie.

   

A police shootout leaves four thieves dead during an explosive armed robbery attempt in Chicago. Their widows -- Veronica, Linda, Alice and Belle -- have nothing in common except a debt left behind by their spouses' criminal activities. Hoping to forge a future on their own terms, Veronica joins forces with the other three women to pull off a heist that her husband was planning.

Bell & James Zinfandel 2016

This understated and easy-drinking red wine captures your attention immediately with aromas of sweet red berries and licorice. Homecoming (Amazon Series)

Alicia and I take a quick binge trip with this very interesting Amazon series converted from the podcast series of the same name. Beautifully done directed by Sam Ismail better known for his work with the Mr. Robot series. This conspiracy military, rehab center, DOD suspense thriller takes you on a slow burn with corporate corruption, deception and pharmaceutical poisoning to a very real story line for profit

Heidi Bergman is a caseworker at Homecoming, a facility that helps soldiers transition back to civilian life. She leaves Homecoming to start a new life living with her mother and working as a small-town waitress. Years later, the Department of Defense questions why she left, which makes Heidi realize that there's a whole other story behind the one that she's been telling herself. Oscar winner Julia Roberts stars as Heidi in the first regular TV series role of her career. "Homecoming" is based a podcast of the same name.
