Killing Eve (codename Villanelle)

 We jumped into a brand new BBC America series called Killing Eve.  A cat and mouse investigator/Assassin series with a twist.  These two protagonist are women and the assassin is a psychopath.  This British triller is very unique and we discuss the nuances of the characters and series.   

 

Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, " `Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun.

Drake new release - "Scorpion" Side A

We finally sit down and review this mega 25 track release by Drake.  With anyone else this would be a long drawn out bore, but when it comes to Drake and his super stardom and versatile skills.  We had to wait and see what he would put together.  Here's our take

   

 

Scorpion is the fifth studio album by Canadian rapper Drake. It was released on June 29, 2018 by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. Scorpion is a double album consisting of 25 tracks. Its "A side" is primarily a hip hop album, whilst its "B side" has been described as R&B and pop

Inti Chardonnay (Chile)

This Chardonnay is beautiful with bursting fresh citrus fruit flavors. A little herbaceousness (almost bell pepper like) underlies the palate and gives it the Chilean style. This fruit on this wine is very similar to taking a grape off the vine and tossing it into your mouth, which is the exact goal of the winery. Truly superb.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (Marvel)

You all ready know, Alicia and I are marvel fans (not fanatics, I'm board line) so we had to go see the sequel to the Ant-Man first movie.  We enjoyed it and thought it was worthy for a sequel with the anticipation of The Wasp being premiered in the sequel so here we are on the premier weekend.  

Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy

#Metoo and Religion / Children in Cages (the immigration dilemma)

The team finishes up our discussion with immigration and how institutions have been hiding undertake guise of religion to take advantage of women as well as keep women in subordinate positions based on religious doctrine.  We go back historically with immigration to bring in perspective of what our country has done in the past as well as what our needs are for today.

Today I speak with my wife Alicia Carr that has be traveling the world speaking about Women in technology as well as diversity and her journey in becoming a coder at 51 years old.  I sit her down to talk about her latest experience as well as how she is getting her message out to people around the world. One of my life’s goal and mission is to EMPOWER women. I have learned that we are the same with our struggles and I don’t want to see color. I see women, and women all over the world are going through problems they shouldn’t have to whether its in tech or through life.  I also see, as people, as women, we are one. Since Alicia is so much of a dinosaur fan, We had to go see Jurassic world on the release week.  This is the third iteration of the Jurassic series and the second part of the Jurassic world series.  Looking forward to another fun and exciting Jurassic movie we go in very excited.

BCS Tech Conference (London UK) 2018

Alicia gets a chance to speak at the UK BCS conference in London and we get to tour the city With our new best Friends.  Charolette, her father Paul and Gen Ashley. We discuss her experience as a keynote speaker and how her talks have evolved in order to get people motivated and involved with women, minorities and young people with technology. Alicia lets us know her thoughts and feelings about the experience.
