Tomb Raider 2018 & 2001

We were taking it easy today and decided to go see the new tomb raider movie with the new popular actress Alicia Vikander.  We also decided to see the Angelina Jolie version all over again as well to see how much we remembered it and how good it was as well. We took the  opportunity to compare the two and see if it this new version was worth the remake of the remake of this popular video game.

 

 Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished years earlier. Hoping to solve the mystery of her father's disappearance, Croft embarks on a perilous journey to his last-known destination -- a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. Runaways

Alicia and I had an opportunity to check out the Marvel series Runaway that was adapted to TV from the comic book series.  This delightful TV series was refreshing and the writing was a very well adapted.  Marvel has a good series on their hand on Hulu so look out for the next season.

Xxxtentacion new release ? (part 1)

This week we drop in on two artist we felt was worthy of being highlighted with their new releases. Tory Lanez and xxxtentacion.   The release I personally was looking forward to is the XXXtentacion new release. With our previous review of his "Debut release 17" we didn't know what we were going to get especially after the SYRE release by Jaden Smith. And by the way, he's number 1 on the billboard chart.    Then we get into the Tory Larenz.  

    

Apple HomePod Review

I've had the Homepod for about a month,  so I'm a little used to having it and using it.  I decided its about time i give my opinion on this new addition to the Apple family.  I'm reviewing it from a sound, look and functionality perspective. I give my opinion on the pluses and minuses of the Homepod and what I hope Apple would be doing next with the product.

Downsizing

This movie was a very badly rated film that we felt was an interesting concept.  Thinking it was another version of Honey I shrunk the kids, but with a modern twist.  We were wrong but this is not what people expected to be so we took the time to check it out. Actually an interesting movie.

Fritz Zimmer Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese 2015

 This week I had a taste for a smooth acidic Riesling.  Having a good Easter meal with Ham and sweet potatoes, this lovely riesling went so well with the meal that this Fritz Zimmer did a good job complementing it.

This review I delve into the psychological and abstract movies that takes a little more than watching and knowing what the plot, ending and story is all about.  This one is the killing of a sacred deer. A Yorgos Lanthimos movie that is so interesting the way it speaks to revenge, sacrifice and responsibility.  

 

Dr. Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon who presides over a spotless household with his wife and two children. Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin, a fatherless teen who insinuates himself into the doctor's life in gradually unsettling ways. F. Stephen Millier Angels Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Lodi 2016

This low cost Cab was something I pulled out this wine just for a light meal.  Not my normal sit down type of Cab but a compliment and easy going with a meal.

This Lodi Cab is the proof, showcasing a lush, ripe style from a single estate vineyard.  Sweet red fruit, predominantly cherry with an undertone of raspberry, and some smoke. A bit spicy with a hint of oak.
